Giving Thanks

I have a lot to be thankful for, my family being at the forefront.  My wonderful husband and my sweet little girls really make my life what it is...which is beautiful.  I also have wonderful extended family (Hi Grams!), great friends, a nice and comfortable home, food on the table and interests and abilities that enrich my life.  I live in a great country.  I'm grateful for my God and my Savior Jesus Christ.  As a kid the actual tradition and event of Thanksgiving was always a little on the silly side as far as Holidays go--you just eat a really nice meal?  As an adult the idea behind an entire holiday being centered on an such an enobling virtue as gratitude, is quite refreshing in it's simplicity and importance.  All this to say I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be grateful for.

I also thought it would be fun to highlight this little video of something I've been specifically thankful for these past couple of weeks, and I thought you guys would want to see this cute little scoot in action.  I shot this on my new iphone with the 8mm app so it has that old school home movie feel (I love it!).  Please be patient as the scoot doesn't make an appearance until about 25 seconds in.  And also, please notice when she stops about half way to figure out if she really wants to come to me or go back to her  new favorite stacking toy.  Kills me.
Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!
See you next week!

Oh my goodness, that is soo funny when Lamp pauses, she really is considering her options, looks over her shoulder, thinks about it for a bit but Mum wins, yay. Oh I love it. I want to wake my kids up just so they can see her, they will LOVE this. From your NZ friends :)

Oh my gosh I love it!!! She is just so determined and totally adorable. Congrats little Lamp on such an awesome milestone :)

I'm curious whatever happened with the fever situation? Did it just eventually go away?

Miggy said...

Mel--

Good question....after multiple rounds of blood tests and some other testing they couldn't find a source. Since she still acted healthy they said let's start watching her and stop taking her temperature. So I did...and it's been fine. The temps just went away. The docs said that happens from time to time--fevers with unknown origin-- we haven't worried about it since. Thanks for asking!

That little scoot was DARLING. And the way she kept looking back at her toy...and kind of cocked her head to one side in contemplation...oh, I can see why it kills you!

She is so cute! And her scoot is so fluid and effortless. I also noticed that she was about to put the rings on the toy too. She's got great skills!

I just watched this again for the 2nd time! I cannot get over her eyes and her face! She is PERFECT! She really looks like a little doll, and I dont know if its the editing on the video or if its just her sweet cheeks and gorgeous eyes but I just wanted to scoop her up and cuddle her! She is gorgeous! AWE! My heart is melted.

I don't even know how I got here, and I did not have an hour to spend reading blogs! I have stuff to do! But I couldn't stop, couldn't stop. Darling girls, definitely awesome. When the challenges are tall, the accomplishments are that much more rewarding-- and the payoff so deserved! Isn't having girls wonderful? Someday my two girls (7&8) will be the best of friends (that's what I tell myself). I'm blowing you all a kiss...
